Bonnie Baby Presents First Full Collection at Bubble London
Bonnie Baby is growing up! – It’s time to fall in love all over again. Luxury British babywear label, Bonnie Baby, has made a major expansion of their fashion range for Spring Summer 2011. The company, who has garnered a fantastic reputation and many celebrity fans, for their ultra stylish knitwear, will be increasing their collection to encompass a much broader product range for Spring Summer 2011.
The new collection will include a cute range of ultra-soft lightweight denims, gorgeous funky printed jerseys and sweet embroidered cottons that are really feminine and fresh. In addition there will be a range of jersey baby basics that come packaged in a very cool milk carton - the perfect starter kit for any stylish baby - plus a wonderful 1930’s inspired Bonnie Baby knitted collection.
The new Bonnie Baby collection has captured a real sense of innocence and fun, where babies can be babies. The collection has a vintage feel, given a contemporary twist through use of fabric and color. As you would expect from Bonnie Baby, it combines cool, contemporary styling and great attention to detail with fantastic quality and practicality.
The Bonnie Baby delicious apple motif is a really strong theme for Spring Summer 2011. The motif runs throughout the collection – either knitted, crossed stitched, embroidered or printed - and gives the whole range a very clear unity.
Another key concept for Spring Summer 2011 is co-ordination. Each piece from the collection has been designed to mix and match perfectly - so you can team a broderie anglaise puff sleeve dress with a soft denim military style jacket or a striped cardigan, and know that the look is really pulled together - essential for little fashionistas!
Tracey Samuel, founder of Bonnie Baby, explains, “Our new collection is going to really surprise people. I have had such fun designing it, particularly all the little details and special finishing ideas that make it Bonnie Baby. It is great to be expanding the brand into new areas and we are really proud of the results."

Dijjie New Babywear on The Block at Bubble London
The Dijjie brand, created by Anita & Jason Pritchard, is very much the new kid on the babywear block with their initial range of garments launch in February this year.
The first sparks of inspiration for the initial range of playsuits came in the whirlwind months following the birth of their beautiful boy, Dylan.
With an eye on the edgy London fashion scene Anita & Jason commissioned illustrations based on current urban styles which they then shrank down and blended onto their brand, quality playsuits with the view of retaining the hand drawn quality of the original artwork.
Dijjie's aims is to create high quality baby clothing that is fun, cool and totally original in design. The launch range of garments are based around all-in-one baby rompers but designed to appear as separate jeans and t-shirts/shirts, the concept being to blend the practical with the cool.

The decision to manufacture in the UK allows excellent quality control and the ability to introduce new ranges on a relatively quick and flexible basis.
Designer Jane Shepherd is delighted, “I always enjoyed manufacturing locally (some people thought we were mad), but now it’s really paying off, allowing flexibility and great quality control. It feels like the right decision, and really good to be supporting the local textile sector. It also gives our customers the confidence to know how and where the products are made."

The Fozia Kids 1950s Pop Art-Inspired Collection at Bubble London Trade Show
Created by ex-Music Industry PR and mother of two, Fozia Hill, the Fozia collection is (understandably) that little bit edgy. Inspired by art and design rather than other children’s brands on the market, the launch collection features 1950s Pop Art-inspired mini polka dot prints and is a combination of contemporary design, with an emphasis on color.
The collection, which is made of 100% organic cotton, comes in two colorways and comprises 34 pieces. These include cute playsuits, kimonos for girls, blankets, leggings, t-shirts, tunics, distinctive knot hats and bibs for both boys and girls. Retail prices range from £5 for a hat to £20 for a dress.
“The inspiration behind Fozia London was to bring a vibrant and stylish organic babywear brand to the market,” says Fozia. “I wanted to move away from the dowdy, run of the mill baby ranges you can find on the high street and create something that would really stand out.”
The collections are designed by fashion marketing graduate, Sarah Hawkins, whose passion for ethical design extended to her creating a luxury ethical lingerie label, which won the BBH Strategic Marketing Award during 2007 Graduate Fashion Week.
As a label, Fozia is aimed at fashion-conscious mothers who are always looking for something new and exciting, both for themselves but also for their children. They are opinion formers and style leaders with a social conscious. Which is just as well, as what sets Fozia’s label apart from the rest is its commitment to sustainability, environmental responsibility and ethical practice. All the garments are Fair Trade and are coloured and printed using low-impact, environmentally responsible dyes.
The Fozia collection is produced by a family run workshop in Kolkata. “Just as important as the design, is the production process,” continues Fozia, “I feel that it is really important that the people who make the clothes work in good conditions and also get a fair wage.” The supply of Fozia products supports the work of the Life Association charity, which for the last fifteen years has been building schools and orphanages in some of the poorest areas of India.

Sue Hill Sping/Summer 2011 Collection at Bubble London
Sue Hill’s Spring/Summer 11 collection combines the most luxurious cotton/cashmere blend yarns with Liberty fabric to make a unique style. Sue only uses the finest materials available for her collections and the S/S 11 range shows the best of the Loro Piana yarns as well as Liberty new season’s fabrics.
Sue has chosen a brand new yarn from the famous Italian yarn maker, Loro Piana, who twist and dye this beautifully soft blend of 85% cotton and 15% cashmere to hand knitting specification exclusively for the Sue Hill brand. The cashmere element makes the yarn both soft and light, ideal for Sue’s collection of hand knits which is divided into three styles – a classic, a contemporary and a collection to combine with the Liberty print collection.
The classic collection includes a hooded jacket, cardigan, slipover and beanie & bootees. The more contemporary range introduces a combination of hand knit stitching and styles creating garments such as peplum cardigans, summer all in one, slash neck sweater and hats and bootees to match, all in the palest of pink, blue, lilac, cream, soft white and grey and finished with mother of pearl buttons. Several other hand knits combine beautifully with the liberty clothing range such as the crop and
A line cardigans with Liberty covered buttons.
Sue says “Until this year, we specialized in hand knitted cashmere designs but as we develop our brand, we are uniting the hand knit designs with our new Liberty print styles to offer a complete new look. We are very proud that all our products are handmade in the UK by our own team of knitters and dressmakers, ensuring that we can offer top quality. A few of the stores we currently supply are Fortnum & Mason, The Nursery Window and Babylist in London and for autumn/winter ’10, Bergdorf Goodman in New York will also stock the Sue Hill brand. We are also working on several other projects at the moment to supply individual exclusive collections to independent stores in the UK.“

Helen Gordon Launches New Brand at Bubble London
Helen Gordon’s exclusive new collection is a nostalgic journey into childhood. Helen launched her business at the beginning of 2010 with a range of clothing, accessories and interior products inspired by traditional fairytales and vintage fabrics.
Her designs are classic and practical, evoking a simpler, innocent era with their use of retro patterns and naïve motifs in a striking palette of colors.
Helen trained and worked as a textile designer for 10 years before a successful career in Buying working for high street retailers. After the birth of her third child, Helen decided to develop her own range of children’s merchandise using her artistic talents and market sector experience, created around her own unique printed fabric designs. She has produced something different: the charm of vintage combined with a classic, contemporary feel.
Helen explains, “I want to make clothes and accessories that are classic in their simplicity and beautiful in design. But I also want them to be practical and appropriate: young girls shouldn’t be wearing strapless dresses and tiny bikinis. I’ve designed bright clothes which are fun and funky, which evoke an era of simpler childhood and which let kids be kids.”
